Kingfishers Pre-Prep
Our new Pre-Prep School is situated in the leafy Hertfordshire countryside. It provides 64 boys aged between 5 and 7 (known as The Kingfishers) with a safe and secure environment in which to thrive. You can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome into the Haberdashers' family. The school is set in an idyllic location where young children can grow up appreciating nature, wildlife and their surroundings whilst providing an attractive and stimulating environment for learning. A broad and balanced curriculum is taught which embraces National Curriculum guidelines and beyond. The aim is to challenge and stretch young enquiring minds, combining traditional values and the best of modern teaching practice. We also aim to channel the natural enthusiasm and excitement of children of this age group into a genuine love of learning. The curriculum will be enriched by visits to exciting places e.g. sites of historic or scientific interest and a variety of clubs. Assessment for entry into the school at 5 years will be age appropriate and will take place in a friendly and informal way. The boys will be prepared for a smooth transition at the age of 7 to the Preparatory School in Butterfly Lane, Elstree. It is our hope that the Kingfishers will complete their experience at Haberdashers' Pre-Prep as well-rounded, confident and caring individuals, ready and eager to take on the challenges of the next step of their education at Haberdashers'. The Haberdashers' Pre-Prep School is situated at Hazel Lane in How Wood, between Radlett and St Albans, just a short distance from Park Street Station.
