"I benefited throughout my life from a school where the intellectual stimulus was enormous and there was full appreciation for non-academic pursuits."

James Rose performs at Ronnie Scott's

Aspiring jazz pianist James Rose (U6M2) recently played in an exciting concert performed by “the next generation of young jazz musicians” at the famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in Soho, London.

As a member of a ten-piece ensemble, James performed from both a contemporary and classic jazz repertoire, as well as accompanying the special guest soloist, the world famous saxophonist Soweto Kinch.

It was an unforgettable experience for James, giving him a real taste of professional jazz performance in the atmosphere of London’s most celebrated jazz venue.

James will be leaving Haberdashers' in the summer to continue his study of jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has been an outstanding servant to the music department over the last seven years, and he moves on with our best wishes and highest hopes.
